Tisbury Footpath Club Evening Walk from Tisbury Square to Chicksgrove/Ladydown 6.30pm. Leader: Rex Sawyer

Thursday August 5th

Wiltshire Wildlife Trust South West Supporter Group invites you to join them at Langford Lakes, Hanging Langford for a Walk 6.30 pm and BBQ 8.00 pm. The walk will be led by Chris Riley the reserve warden, this will be an opportunity to see part of the recent purchase of adjoining land, the walk will be followed by a BBQ (bring own food, heat provided). Nadder Valley Fun Dog Show & Air Display at the Compasses Inn, Chicksgrove. This year every penny raised will be going to two charities: Help for Heroes and The Oldies Club - finding homes for older dogs.


TISBURY FOOTPATH CLUB. We shall leave Nadder Close at 12.45 pm to start our walk at l.30pm in FROME. Park in the Old Cattle Market Car Park near the TIC & toilets. This will be a leisurely 7 miles walk via Willow Vale, Rodden Church & East Woodlands, (pausing at the village hall for a cream tea! - bring £3.50 to partake) Leader: Stephen Moody

St John's Church Songs of Praise 6pm. Theme: All one in Christ Jesus. Please join us for this hour of informal ecumenical worship and feel welcome to bring a hymn, worship song or reading (Biblical or non-Biblical) on the theme. Service lasts about an hour.

TISBURY LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY trip to Montecute House (NT). There are four seats left on the Tisbus. Please contact Rex Sawyer on 870 734. Cost £10 covers minibus & tour of house.

Saturday 14th August

Music for voice and piano at St John’s by the mezzo-soprano Emma Watkinson and pianist Robin Cohen. The programme will include songs by Brahms, Schumann, Fauré and Britten, and Robin will be playing some of Chopin’s Nocturnes. St Andrew’s Chapel at 7.30pm. Admission £7 at the door. Wednesday 25th August

Tisbury Footpath Club 6.15pm from Nadder Close to Wardour (near School). For 6.30pm for our usual walk around Wardour led by Jeremy Hooper.
*NB. Members of the Club have established a Self-Help Footpath Maintenance Team which will meet once a month on a Saturday morning for the purpose of clearing local footpaths of seasonal vegetation & overhanging obstructions. The first occasion will be on Saturday 21st August. If you would like to join this effort, please contact Roger Walker on 871 105.

Tisbury Horticultural Society's OPEN ANNUAL SHOW Victoria Hall on at 2.30 pm. A wondrous display of blooms, beans, berries, baking and more: the culmination of a year's work by the gardeners of Tisbury. Anyone can take part; pick up a free schedule [giving details of how to enter] from the Post Office, Casawara or Tisbury News or by phoning 871460.
