10TH ANNIVERSARY FOR TISBUS!
The Tisbus AGM on 11th June was well attended and members were informed of the charity’s healthy financial position. With addition during the year of its new 16-seater bus usage had increased, as has membership that grew from 160 to 248.
A 10th Anniversary tea party is to be held on 4th August at The Emblems, Fovant and a full summer programme is underway. In its endeavour to be more
inclusive in our community a questionnaire was sent to members and the results were very positive, we have taken up many suggestions made by members and now include, from September, Monday afternoon cinema and tea in comfort at the Beckford Arms, more Sunday afternoon Mystery trips and lunches at local
cafes and restaurants – if you would like to know the outcome and wish to receive the Newsletter contact the Co-Coordinator at the end of this article.
The Summer/Autumn programme includes: August: Wednesday 11th Cream Tea at Pythouse and the opportunity to walk around the walled garden. Friday
13th Seaside Kids a special trip for children to Shell Bay, Studland. Wednesday 18th Day Trip to Weymouth. Wednesday 25th Lunch at Compton Abbas Airfield and the opportunity to see the planes.
September; Monday 6th Afternoon Cinema and Tea the Beckford Arms the film is ABBA. Sunday 12th Day trip to Wimborne Market. Friday 17th Day Trip to
Barrington Court a beautiful National Trust property. Sunday 19th one of the popular afternoon Mystery Trips and on Friday 24th Lunch at the River Café
Fonthill Bishop. October: Monday 4th Beckford Arms for Cinema and cream tea. Wednesday 13th
Lunch and shopping at the Udder Farm Shop & Restaurant. Sunday 17th another popular afternoon Mystery Trip and finally on Wednesday the long awaited Day Trip to Southampton’s West Quay.
With its improved fleet of vehicles Tisbus is busy 7 days a week, with the Regular Shopping Trips to Salisbury on Tuesdays, Shaftesbury (and onward
to Gillingham by request) on Thursdays, Tisbury on Friday and Warminster once a month Tisbus covers an area, including Tisbury, West Tisbury, The
Fonthills, Fovant, Dinton, Semley, Newtown, The Donheads, East Knoyle, Hindon, Chilmark, Swallowcliffe, Ansty, Barford St. Martin and Sutton Mandeville.
In addition to the above Tisbus has its regular daily term time runs for children to Chilmark School, hospital, dentist and hairdressers visits, private hire for weddings and group functions – in fact whatever your travel requirements Tisbus can accommodate you.
